FIFA 2010
on Aug 06 in GeneralThere is no doubt that the hosting of the FIFA Soccer World Cup provided South African businesses with a huge opportunities. It afforded both companies and small enterprises the chance to make that extra buck. Possibly more importantly however was that the event allowed some the opportunity to showcase their work on an indeterminate scale. With viewing numbers into the billions, people across the globe would be subjected to a visual experience like no other.
Although strict, FIFA’s guidelines for the event were certainly necessary. Tone Digital’s professionalism, work ethic, scope and sheer volume ability put us streaks ahead of our competition, allowing us to secure the contract. Tone Digital, ICON SA’s preferred print supplier, printed over one million square meters of print for the World Cup. This included stadium dressing, directional signage as well as all press and interview backgrounds and much more. A massive undertaking no doubt with people working around the clock to get everything ready in time for the opening ceremony and other important deadlines. With time being of the essence, recreational time was at a minimum but this never stopped our staff from religiously following “Football Fridays and filling the office, floor to ceiling, with flags, makarapas and vuvuzelas. We can only applaud the efforts of all our staff. From design to the finishing, it truly was something for everyone to be proud of and something I am sure no one will forget.
“Our staff are our biggest asset”
